On 14 May in Brussels was held on AgriFoodSkills European project workshop - born from the collaboration between the’University of Turin e Confragricoltura - launched in January 2025 with the aim of Defining the EU Observatory on Agro-Food Skills, in agreement with the European Commission DG AGRI, DG EMPLOYMENT and DG GROW.
The Joinfruit Director Bruno Sacchi, presented the pilot training project for Italy, initiated by the Verzuolo OP with the financing and coordination of ENAPRA - Confagricoltura Training Body: “The goal we set ourselves - commented Sacchi - is to critically analyse our processes and verify the skills of the people working within these activities, in order to design ‘tailor-made’ training that will fill the skills gap needed to make our processes more effective and efficient.”
This new training needs analysis project, based on the Pact4Skills, It will see the involvement of the entire Joinfruit supply chain, from farm staff to PO management: in fact, being a Producers' Organisation involves the management of complex and interconnected processes, which require diversified and integrated skills. For this reason, Joinfruit considers it fundamental to invest in training, and participation in Pact4Skills has precisely the objective of analysing and improving production and management processes, thus promoting the development of internal competencies and, consequently, the growth of the entire supply chain.
How is the analysis project structured? It is envisaged 4 different stagesAfter an initial phase of definition of the production process through flowcharts specifying for each activity the content, results and skills required for its execution, the second phase involves the identification of human resources assigned to each activity, with the relevant level of competence to perform the tasks and the critical issues related to the tasks and the skills required to perform them. In the last two phases a survey of all staff, and finally to carry out a skills gap analysis with the help of the Job Atlas, This led to the identification of training needs and the training activities to be designed.
Through this analysis project, Joinfruit intends to improving organisational efficiency, automating procedures, optimising internal communication and promoting better integration between the different areas of competence.
