A new way of grocery shopping arrives in Cuneo, combining technology, sustainability, and local produce.

Sunday 17 May, on the occasion of the Joinfruit Trophy dedicated to the grassroots categories 2013, 2015, and 2018, The “Fresh by Joinfruit” locker, a new service designed by Joinfruit for purchasing fruit and vegetables directly from producers, was inaugurated at the Cuneo Training Center.

The system works similarly to the more common parcel lockers: through a dedicated web app, you can order your groceries online and collect them later from a locker installed within the sports facility.

The initiative stems from the collaboration between Joinfruit and the youth sector of Cuneo 1905, strongly desired by the director of Joinfruit. Bruno Sacchi. “I know very well how much cultivating the land to harvest its fruits requires effort, patience, and dedication, but raising children is an even greater responsibility. In the fields of the Cuneo Training Centre, not only young footballers are being trained, but the adults of tomorrow: it's a precious job that Cuneo is carrying out excellently.”he stated.

The project aims to bring producers and consumers closer together through a short and sustainable supply chain. Joinfruit, a fruit and vegetable producer organisation founded in 2015 in Verzuolo, brings together around 200 members committed to producing fruit and vegetables with respect for the land and biodiversity. With “Joinfruit Fresh”, products are harvested and packaged only after ordering, reducing waste and intermediate steps.
Among the excellence available are the potatoes from Valle Gesso, cultivated above 700 metres by the “I Balin dal Re” Consortium, and the Monviso – Valle Bronda Ramassin, a small blue-violet plum, a Slow Food Presidium and a symbol of the agricultural tradition of Saluzzo.
Alongside the quality of the products, the project also focuses on social inclusion. Some vegetables are in fact sourced from Cascina Pensolato, a social agricultural co-operative committed to the employment of former inmates and people in situations of fragility.

Using the locker is simple: after registering on the web app, the user can choose the collection day, select the desired products, and complete the payment by card or Satispay. On the appointed day, simply go to the locker and use the QR code received to open the compartment containing your shopping.
Deliveries are made on Tuesdays and Fridays. Orders must be completed by 11:59 PM on the second day prior to collection; for example, to collect your shopping on Tuesday, your order must be placed by midnight on Sunday. A minimum purchase of €15 applies.
With this new service, Joinfruit also brings to Cuneo an increasingly widespread purchasing model: practical, digital, and focused on promoting local produce, with the aim of making daily shopping more sustainable and connected to the local area.
